STEP Australia 2017 Conference

The STEP Australia 2017 Conference – ‘Trusts and estates – the challenges of contemporary practice
was held at The Langham in Melbourne on 3 and 4 August 2017.

150 delegates enjoyed a two-day program of presentations by leading experts.   In the words of the delegates:

“The STEP Australia 2017 Conference was one of the best I have attended anywhere in the world.  The presentations were of the highest calibre, relevant to specialists across jurisdictions and engaging.”  Rod Cunich TEP, Keypoint Law, Sydney

“Each of the papers presented referred to topics that were intricately related to issues that arise in everyday wills and estates practice, and the speakers all had intimate knowledge of their topics.  The conduct of the conference was seamless, and was a credit to STEP Australia.”  Angela Cursio TEP, Fischer McCrae Lawyers, Melbourne

“There was a great blend of conference papers on topics relevant to my practice, such as equity in a litigation setting and the session on statutory wills, which were stimulating and the papers will be a helpful permanent resource for me.  The speakers were accessible after their presentations, too. On the social side of things, the guest speaker at the dinner, Dylan Alcott OAM, was truly inspirational.”  David Crocker TEP, Edmund Barton Chambers, Adelaide

“In my opinion it was first class and one of the best conferences I have ever attended.  There was an excellent line up of speakers, and a good mix of attendees from each state.  It provided good networking and interactive opportunities.”  Jim O’Donnell TEP, Jackson McDonald, Perth

“STEP Australia is to be congratulated for the 2017 Australian Conference which provided a comprehensive and contemporary program of cutting edge issues in trusts and estate planning.  Along with presentations from some quality speakers, it was also a welcome networking opportunity to share war stories and create relationships with other professionals from all over the country – an often overlooked benefit of such conferences.”  Brian Herd TEP, CRH Law, Brisbane
